Well, I slept last night in the open
Down by a redwood tree Yes, I slept last night in the open Just to let, just to let, just to let my soul free I don't want to know, I don't want to go, I don't want to go back into the city. It's just a long long long lonely taxi ride Going nowhere. Well, I slept last night in the open (It gets so hot in the city) Down by a redwood tree (It gets so hot in the city) Yes, I slept last night in the open Just to let, just to let, just to let my soul free. I don't want to know, I don't want to go, I don't want to go back into the city. It's just a long long long lonely taxi ride Going nowhere |

see the snowflakes softly fall the day grows gray and still it'll be the same tomorrow high in the piny woods I stay and you're so far away only red woods share my sorrow the city lights so big and bright became our confrontaion now you're there the crystal air becomes a seperation I'm just sitting alone with my shadows now he's my only friend sometimes I climbed to the very top of snow ridge mountain and I can see for miles sometimes I think I glimps the city haze imagination.. or I wanted to see you smile sometimes I watch the beaver's playing down by the forest tearing.. but it's no fun to laugh out loud.. when no one else is hearing.. I'm just sitting alone with my shadows now he's my only friend spring to summer and summer to fall the wintertime is the loneliest time of all.. maybe when the springtime comes around and the snows have melted.. I make my way down to the valley sell my horse and buy a truck.. just to look for.. I'll find you somewhere in the city but then again maybe I'll stay where people cannot reach me.. hide my pain and laugh again.. and I'll let the beevers teach me.. I'm just sitting alone with my shadows now he's my only friend |

Leaves begin to fall
golden in the sun I see the children run on Signal hill When winter's on my mind I'll leave it all behind the happiness I find on Signal hill If she wasn't there returned to hear me when I called I'd never think of staying on Signal hill Time is mine to hold and the days are rich and green and beautiful my queen on Signal hill I lay beside her now And thougths come to my mind of one I left behind If she wasn't there returned to hear me when I called I'd never think of living in my Signal hill Love I have is real and the love I take I still but still for her I feel I see the autumn rain so part will still remain of my forgotten name on Signal hill If she wasn't there returned to hear me when I called I'd never think of living in my Signal hill But a leaf to, I've seen, fall on Signal hill |

I see her every day but she turns her face away
Her eyes tell me the pain in her heart Why I ask myself again "Does she stay with the man who brings her pain?" But she forgives him just a same When she cries she comes to me as a friend, just a friend And I know she loves me as a friend But if she could know the pain I feel when she goes to him again The memory still remains He will greet me with a smile as he does everyday Questions crying in his eyes I turn away But comes the night refrain I'll be with her again Even though I'm just a friend But comes the night refrain I'll be with you again Even though I'm just a friend, just a friend |

Here I am, on your photograph
again what kind of place did you bring me to this time is it a room so small but there's hardly room at all other peoples rooms are they cheery are they bright other peoples lives, do they always turn out right do they always look the door wishing they had someone to open it for just a little room of there own and all the music that I play, is just for the time that I get to slip away and lose myself in other peoples rooms. other peoples rooms, are they fancy or just plain, other peoples dreams, are they really just the same everyone needs a caller of their own, everyone needs a place to come home, just a little room of their own, and all the music that I play is just for the times that I get to slip away, And lose myself in other peoples rooms here the music play, in other peoples rooms, all the love is there, in other peoples rooms, hear the music play in other peoples rooms all the love is there in other peoples rooms |

Lady when you love me I feel home sweet home inside of your
sublime This garden is sure to grow You know our love is just like summertime Parrot's eye the fruit and we make love between a harpsichord and lutes Our green limbs intertwine You know our love is just like summertime Our souls collide We slip and slide We feel no pain and where our lives locked together We weather the wind and rain we flow the farm We're safe from harm inside this circles of summertime Both of us know is our love Love is from the past with poison smiles all pray our love will never last But we are trees not vines You know our love is just like summertime As the song begins these shipwrecks fade behind a wave of violins Vivaldi made us rhyme You know our love is just like summertime |
