도쿄 출신으로 대만인인 어머니와 일본인 아버지의 사이에서 태어났다. 어릴 때부터 노래하기를 좋아하던 그녀는 중학생 때 아레사 프랭클린의 노래를 듣고 충격을 받아 풍부한 감정으로 노래를 하는데 있어 그 자유로운 표현방식을 동경하게 된다. 대학 시절 재즈 클럽에서 스탠다드곡을 부르기 시작하였으며 이 시절, 프로 뮤지션과 공연한 것을 계기로 라이브 공연의 감동과 즐거움을 알기 시작하였다. 노스캐롤라이나주, 뉴욕에 단기 유학. 졸업 후 일본에서 음악 세션에 참가하기 시작했고 동시에 오리지널 밴드 Bird's Cafe, OTONOTO에서 보컬을 맡아 도쿄 내 라이브 하우스와 클럽 이벤트에 출연해 사람들의 감탄을 자아낸다. 2003년 plants label의 컴필레이션 앨범에 OTONOTO로 Billie Holiday의 커버 곡으로 참가하기도 하였다. 밴드 해산 후 프로듀서 키시 켄지로(岸健次郎)와 만나 2004년 4월 앨범‘SONGS'로 toera lable에서 데뷔. 탁월한 가창력으로 일약 큰 주목을 받게 된다. 5월 신쥬쿠 PIT INN에서 발매기념 라이브. Studio Apartment의 앨범 ’World Line'에 게스트 참가. 2005년 11월, 두 번째 앨범‘Colors'를 발매하여 뛰어난 가창력과 놀라운 감정표현으로 새로운 보컬리스트의 등장을 알리며 음악계에 비상한 주목을 받고 있다. .... ....
