DIMENSION ZERO는 인플레임스의 두 기타리스트였던 예스퍼 스트롬블라드와 글렌 융스트롬의 프로젝트로서 1996년 중반에 탄생했다.
이들은 인플레임스와 같이 격렬하면서도 더욱 브루탈하고 속도감 있는 음악을 만들고자 했다. 우선, 이 프로젝트의 이름은 AGENT ORANGE였으나 동명의 밴드가 활동중인 관계로 DIMENSION ZERO라는 이름으로 개명하였다.
당시 라인업은 HANS NILSSON (드럼, 전 LUCIFERION , CRYSTAL AGE, 현 DIABOLIQUE), JOCKE GOTHBERG (보컬, 전 MARDUK), FREDRIK JOHANSSON (기타), GLENN LJUNGSTROM (기타, 전 IN FLAMES) 그리고 JESPER STROMBLAD (기타 및 베이스, 현 IN FLAMES)이었으며 이 라인업으로 97년 EP "PENETRATIONS OF THE LOST WORLD"를 공개했다. .... ....

조그만 로봇 '1호'가 있었다. 유능한 뮤지션이자 저명한 엔지니어·프로듀서이기도 한 피터 탁트그렌(Hypocrisy, Abyss)이 근래 주력하는 페인(Pain)의 곡, <Just Hate Me>는 컴퓨터 그래픽과 스톱애니메이션으로 만든 뮤직 비디오가 인상적이었는데, 최초로 감정을 가진 로봇으로 만들어진 '1호'와 그 창조자인 과학자의 이야기로, 50년이 흐른 후 거대한 로봇 제작에 과학자가 몰두하면서 그의 곁에 "늘 함께 있으면서도 잊혀지는" 가여운 로봇 '1호'의 모습에, 민망하게도, 얼마나 슬퍼했는지 모른다. 이 뮤직비디오를 새삼 떠올리는 것은, 동향인 스웨덴의 디멘션 제로(Dimension Zero)가 잔인하게 휘몰아치는 격랑을 담아낸 [This Is Hell]을 보는 관점, 즉 이들이 형...
