The Glam은 현재 홍대 라이브 클럽씬의 전신이라 할 수 있는 신촌의 락월드, 신천의 DMZ, 신림동의 Led Zeppelin등의 클럽들이 태동하던 시기인 1994년 No-Way라는 밴드명으로 결성되었다.
이들 클럽 등지서 활발히 활동하던 No-Way는 1997년 서울음반에서 발매된 Metallica Tribute 앨범인 'Am I Metallica'를 끝으로 박용국을 제외한 기존 멤버들이 모두 교체되었고, 2001년 밴드 명을 Tomorrow로 개명, 여러 락 페스티벌에 참가하며 활발한 활동을 펼치게 된다.
이후, 2003년 정규앨범 녹음작업을 위해 잠정적으로 활동을 축소하게 된 이들은, 이 기간동안 다시 밴드 명을 'the Glam' 으로 개명하며 현재에 이르게 되었다. 꽤 오랜 시기동안 다양한 변화를 거쳐온 만큼, the Glam의 음악에는 모던 락의 신선함과 글램 락의 화려함, 락엔롤적인 흥겨움, 싸이키델릭의 현란함 등 여러가지 요소들이 자연스럽게 녹아있다. 이렇게 다양한 요소들을 담고 있으면서도 그들의 음악은 누구와도 비교하기 힘든 독창성을 지니고 있으며 강렬하다.
언제나 새로운 시도로 충만한 the Glam의 음악은 결코 기존의 어떤 음악조류를 추종하고 있지 않기에 누구에게나 쉽게 다가서지 못할 것이라는 선입견을 가지게 하지만, '진정 예술적인 음악은 대중적이다.'라는 그들의 음악관을 증명이라도 하듯 가볍지 않은 주제를 담고 있지만, 결코 부담지 않다.
'우린 너무나도 평범한 일상을 살아가고 있지만, 언제나 새로운 세상으로의 일탈을 꿈꾼다. 그리고, 변화없는 일상 속에 지쳐있는 사람들의 머릿속을 휘젓기를 원한다..' .... ....
