전영진의 음악은 '직관'과 '계산'이 공존한다고 볼 수 있다. 절대음감을 이용해서, 어떤 음악을 들어도 그 음과 화성을 즉시에 잡아내고 재현해낼 수 있으며, 악기 없이도 원하는 음과 화성을 머리 속에서 구상하거나 입으로 낸다는 점에서는 다분히 '직관적'인 면이 존재한다. 별도의 의도적인 연습없이 음악을 '그냥 한다'라는 개념인데, 반면, 작사, 작곡, 편곡, 엔지니어링하는 과정이나 상대음감을 이용한 조옮김 등은 '머리 속의 계산'을 동반한 음악을 하는 것이다. 이런 점을 반영해서인지, 그는 자신이 음악 프로듀서로 불리길 원한다고 한다. 작곡가, 싱어, 또 여러 가지의 악기 연주자(Multi-Instrumentalist) 등의 면모도 있지만, 위에서 밝힌 그의 유일한(?) 장점은 바로 이 직관과 계산을 모두 이용한 음악 '창작'이기 때문이다. 또한 나머지 부분에 대해선 스스로 '자신없는 부분'이라는 말을 한다. 그만큼 그는 단순히 어느 한 분야의 아티스트를 넘어서, '음악과 관련된 창작을 하는 사람'이 되고 싶어한다.
