어린 시절부터 친구였던 4명을 주축으로 2009년 10월에 결성된 더 유나이티드93은 당시 중국에서 유학중이던 드러머 J를 위해 전 멤버가 중국으로 건너가 펑크밴드로서 첫 활동을 시작했다.
8개월간 중국에서 수차례의 단독공연을 통해 인지도를 쌓으며 TV 프로그램 출연과 중국 최대 규모의 록페스티벌인 'MIDI 페스티벌', 'TJ 록페스티벌'에 초청되는 등 활발한 활동을 펼치고, 2010년 한국으로 귀국한 더 유나이티드93은 기존의 펑크록 스타일에서 탈피해 하드하면서도 서정적인 감성이 담긴 비공식 EP [Mechanical Love]를 제작했다.
같은 해 7월 EBS '스페이스 공감'의 '이달의 헬로루키' 오디션으로 한국에서의 첫 공연을 가졌고, 바로 다음달 '8월의 헬로루키'로 선정되며 화려한 신고식을 치렀다.
이후 홍대를 거점으로 활동하며 신인으로서는 드물게 '인천 펜타포트 록페스티벌', '부산 국제 록페스티벌'에 출연하는 기염을 토하기도 했다.
2011년 초 새 멤버 Blau(DJ/FX)를 영입해 전력을 보강한 더 유나이티드93은 '2011 라이브뮤직 콘테스트'에서 금상을 수상하고 '2011 렛츠록 페스티벌'에 출연하는 등, 각종 페스티벌과 오디션 프로그램에서 두각을 나타내었다. .... ....
