로이 오비슨은 미국의 락 가수이자 팝 가수이다. 1956년 데뷔 이래 그는 1961년, Running scared와 1964년에는 영화 귀여운 여인의 주제곡으로도 사용되어 우리에게 잘 알려진 Oh, Pretty woman이 빌보드 차트 정상에 올랐다.
그 이후 교통사고(오토바이 사고)로 부인을 잃은데 이어 주택 화재로 아들 2명마저 잃어버리는 바람에 끝없는 추락의 길을 전전긍긍하다가 1980년대 들어 데이비드 린치 감독의 영화 블루 벨벳에 로이 오비슨의 1960년대 히트곡인 In dreams가 수록되면서 그의 음악은 재조명되어 재기에 성공하다가 1988년 심장마비로 세상을 떠났다. .... ....
