INTRODUCTION
Orbital (오비탈)은 20여 년 넘게 영국 일렉트로니카씬, 특히 테크노씬을 대표하는 형제 듀오로 하트놀(Hartnoll) 가문의 형제 필(Phil)과 폴(Paul)이 1987년 영국의 켄트에서 결성해 1989년 부친의 카세트덱으로 레코딩한 [Chime]를 Oh Zone Record에서 발매한 것이 그들의 시작이다. 1990년 재발매된 [Chime]은 UK차트 17위라는 기염을 토하며 이름을 널리 알리기 시작해 당시 클러버들의 댄스 송가가 되었을 정도였다. 후속으로 발표한 'Omen', 'Satan'이라는 심상치 않은 제목의 곡들도 연타를 날려 오비탈은 마니아들을 거느리고 있는 일렉트로니카계에서 신성으로 떠오른다. 1991년 셀프 타이틀의 정규 데뷔 앨범을 발표했으나 전작에 비해 큰 성공을 거두지 못하고 1992년 [Radiccio EP]를 통해 희대의 명곡 'Halcyon'을 빵 터뜨리며 지금에까지 그 명성을 이어오고 있다. ....  ....
