INTRODUCTION1984년 스웨덴 스톡홀름의 왕립 음악 학원에서 3명의 남자 음학도 Anders Edenroth, Peder Karlsson, Anders Jalkéus의 만남에서 시작된 The Real Group. 세 사람의 주도 하에 시작된 팀은 이후 Margareta Bengtson과 Katarina Henryson 등 재능과 열정이 넘치는 두 명의 여성 멤버들이 합세하며 현재와 동일한 혼성 5인조의 포메이션을 구성하고 당시 이들이 즐겨보던 재즈 모음집인 ”The Real Book”에서 이름을 딴 The Real Group이란 팀 명으로 마침내 활동을 시작하게 된다. 1987년 데뷔 이후 지금까지 다채로운 활동을 펼치며 활약해온 이 그룹은 이제 명실공히 세계 최고의 아카펠라 그룹으로 그 위상을 굳건히 하고 있으며 국내에서도 ’I Sing You Sing’, ’Small Talk’, ’Substitute For Life’등 섬세함과 유머를 겸비한 주옥 같은 곡들을 통하여 많은 사랑을 받고 있다. 다만 앞서 팀을 떠난Margareta와 더불어 최근 Peder 역시 개인적인 이유로 팀을 떠나게 된 부분은 이들의 오랜 팬들에겐 분명 아쉬운 부분일 텐데, 현재는 Emma Nilsdotter, 그리고 Morten Vinther가 새로운 구성원으로 완전히 자리를 잡으며 그 자리를 메꾸고 있다. ....
