INTRODUCTION
모든 노래가 심혈을 기울여서 만든 노래라는 것을 여러분들은 느낄 수 있고 Worthless, Needle, Empire와 같은 곡들은 꽤 마음에 들 것이라고 확신한다. Mark Hunt - Vocal 이 음반에는 진정으로 메탈을 좋아하는 모든 사람들을 위한 무언가가 들어 있다. Rob Arnold ? Guitar Modern Metal에 대해 얘기할 때 빼놓을 수 없는 한 밴드가 있다.
오하이오주 클리브랜드 출신 CHIMAIRA그들이 네번째 앨범 "Resurrection" 으로 돌아왔다.
이 앨범은 여러분이 바라는대로 그야말로 끝내준다.
물론 조금 놀랍게도 쇄신하려는 멋진 아이디어도 담아져 있으며 두세번 듣다보면 CHIMAIRA의 강력한 부활을 느낄 수 있을 것이다.
1998년 Mark Hunter 와 Jason Hager (2001년에 Matt DeVries로 맴버 교체가 이뤄짐)로 결성된 CHIMAIRA는 곧 밴드의 첫 EP This Present Darkness를 발표한 후 로드런너 레코드사와 계약을 했다.
2001년에 데뷰 앨범 Pass Out Of Existence를 발표했고 2003년에 발표한 두번째 앨범 The Impossibility Of Reason는 메탈계에 큰 반향을 불러모았고 일찍부터 최고의 기량을 가진 밴드로 여겨졌다.
이들은 FEAR FACTORY, DANZIG, SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, ILL NINO, SPINESHANK, IN FLAMES 같은 밴드들과 많은 공연도 했으나 2003년 후반에 드러머 Andols Herrick가 밴드를 떠나 후임으로 Soilwork 의 Richie Evensandt를 맞이하였고 다시 Misery Index의Kevin Talley로 교체되었고 어둡고 스래쉬한 앨범이면서 지금까지 어느 앨범보다 헤비한 세번째 앨범 Chimaira 녹음하였다.
DEVILDRIVER, GWAR, OPETH와 공연 후 2년의 공백을 깨고 드러머 Andols가 밴드로 복귀하였다.
사람들은 Andols 복귀를 축하해주리라고 생각된다.
또한 Andols는 멋진 녀석이라는 걸을 공감하리라고 생각된다.
이제 신구라인업으로 재정비한 CHIMAIRA는 로드런너 레코드사와의 계약을 연장하지 않기로 하고 미국의 Ferret 레코드사 유럽의 NUCLEAR BLAST와 같은 새 레코드 회사와 계약하기에 이르렀으며 2006년 후반에 CHIMAIRA는 TRIVIUM의 앨범에 참여한 Jason Suecof 를 프로듀서로 맞아 음반 작업에 돌입하게 되었으며 믹싱은 언급할 필요가 없는 Andy Sneap이 담당하게 되었다..
