Subject : 불확정적 도시괴담

로니 사이즈 & 레프라젠트(Roni Size & Reprazent)의 [New Forms](1997), 골디(Goldie)의 [Timeless](1995), 매시브 어택(Massive Attack)의 [Blue Lines](1991), 포티스헤드(Portishead)의 [Dummy](1994)는 모두 영국 일렉트로닉의 걸작인 동시에 도시의 풍경을 탁월하게 그려낸 음반들이다. 물론 사운드는 구체적인 지시 대상이 없다. 따라서 이 음반들에 담긴 음악이 도시와 직접적으로 대응할 수는 없다. 그러나 이 음악들을 만들기 위해 사용하는 사운드의 재료들은 도시의 소리와, 그것도 도시의 밤의 소리와 일맥상통하는 부분이 있다. 그 소리들을 통해 우리는 우리가 경험하는 도시의 이미지를 형상화한다. 고독하고, 위협적이며, 빛과...
