"Viva Emptiness!" 오랜 순례를 통하여 직관적 성찰을 얻게 되었다하더라도 세속에 몸을 담고 있는 이상 갈구는 운명적이고 그로 인해 시름은 깊어간다. 이것이 음악으로 화한 것이 캐터토니어(Katatonia)였다. 트래비스 스미스(Travis Smith)에 의해 앞뒤의 작품이 연결되는 커버아트를 입고 발표된, 스웨덴 언더그라운드 락/메틀씬의 거장인 캐터토니어(Katatonia)의 [Viva Emptiness]는 그들이 꽤 긴 여정에도 아직은 피로하지 않았음을 증명한다. 한껏 숙성된 서정과 완성된 기교가 만난 기품 있는 사운드는 여전히 캐터토니어의 이름에 걸맞다. 절제에 의한 점진적 진행에 의해 그 총화로써 결국 살라지는 격정과는 다른 방식을 취하고 있을지라도 여전히 그들답게 허무함이 짙게 드리운 동...
