The sea will wash against the rock
The rock stands strong, the rock is strong The sea will wash against the rock But before too long the rock is gone The wind will blow against the stone The stone stands strong, the stone is strong The wind will blow against the stone but before too long the stone is gone Patience gentlemen, we move closer every day Patience gentlemen, the stone will soon give way Chorus We are the wave, We are the flow We are the wind And soon the rock must go We are the wave, We are the flow We are the wind And soon the rock must go You cannot hold back the tide The tide must rise the tide must rise It's the law of earth and skies The tide will rise, the tide will rise It's as natural as day to night As day to night, day to night As natural as black and white Black and white, black and white Patience gentlemen, the flower can grow up through the stone Patience gentlemen, it's a truth that we have always known |

This is my island in the sun
Where my people have toiled since time begun Though I may sail on many a sea Her shores will always be home to me chorus Oh, island in the sun Willed to me by my father's hand All my days I will sing in praise Of your forest, waters, your shining sand When morning breaks the heaven on high I lift my heavy load to the sky Sun comes down with a burning glow Mingles my sweat with the earth below chorus Oh, island in the sun Willed to me by my father's hand All my days I will sing in praise Of your forest, waters, your shining sand I see woman on bended knee Cutting cane for her family I see man at the waters side Casting nets at the surging tide chorus Oh, island in the sun Willed to me by my father's hand All my days I will sing in praise Of your forest, waters, your shining sand I hope the day will never come That I can't awake to the sound of drum Never let me miss carnival With calypso songs philosophical chorus Oh, island in the sun Willed to me by my father's hand All my days I will sing in praise Of your forest, waters, your shining sand |

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain was yellow Try to remember the kind of September When you were a young and callow fellow Try to remember and if you remember Then follow, follow, follow Try to remember when life was so tender And no one wept except the willow Try to remember when life was so tender And dreams were kept beside your pillow Try to remember when life was so tender When love was an ember about to billow Try to remember and if you remember Then follow, follow Deep in December it's nice to remember Although you know the snow will follow Deep in December, it's nice to remember Without a hurt, the heart is hollow Deep in December, it's nice to remember The fire of September, that made us mellow Deep in December our hearts should remember And follow...follow Background solo by Arthur Williams, Demetrius Harvey, Anthony Mills or ... |

In Jamaica, Calypso isle,
ev'rybody dancing with a happy smile. All but a young man along the pier, he had a song to sing that was sad to hear: I must sail away across the sea, leave the girl, who only loves me. Although I say "Farewell Jamaica" today, I know that I'll come back to her another day. Down the way where the nights are gay and the sun shines daily on the mountain top, I took a trip on a sailing ship and when I reached Jamaica I made a stop. But I'm sad to say I'm on my way, won't be back for many a day. My heart is down, my head is turning around, I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town. Sounds of laughter everywhere and the dancing girls swaying to and fro. I must declare my heart is there although I've been from Maine to Mexico. But I'm sad to say I'm on my way, won't be back for many a day. My heart is down, my head is turning around, I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town. |

A time, a time of strife
The place, the place is Ireland This Irish legend had it And the last rose of summer fell and all the young men of Ireland Were together to stake a blow For Ireland's freedom and Ireland's liberty There' songs for those who stayed at home and songs for those who went away and all o'er Ireland were sad Oh Danny boy the pipes the pipes are calling From glen to glen and down the mountain side The summer's gone and all the roses falling It's you it's you must go and I must bide But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny Boy I'll love you so But if you fall as all the flowers are dying And you are dead as dead you well maybe I'll come and fine the place where you are laying And kneel and say an Ave there for thee |

Long time ago in Bethlehem
So the Holy Bible say Mary's boy child, Jesus Christ Was born on Christmas day. Hark, now hear the angels sing A new King born today And man will live forever more Because of Christmas day. While shepherds watched their flock by night And see a bright new shining star And hear a choir sing The music seem to come from afar. Now Joseph and his wife Mary Come to Bethlehem that night And find no place to borne she child Not a single room was in sight. Hark, now hear the angels sing A new King born today And man will live forever more Because of Christmas day. By and by they find a little nook In a stable all forlorn And in a manger cold and dark Mary's little boy was born. Hark, now hear the angels sing A new King born today And man will live forever more Because of Christmas day. |

Silent Night, Holy night, all is calm, all is bright
'Round yon Virgin Mother and Child Holy Infant so tender and mild Sleep in Heavenly peace Sleep in Heavenly peace Silent Night, Holy night, shepherds quake at the sight Glories stream from Heaven a far Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia Christ the Savior is born Christ the Savior is born Silent Night, Holy night, Son of God, love's pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace |

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play And wild and sweet The words repeat Of peace on earth, good will to men I thought, as now this day had come The belfries of all Christendom Had rung so long The unbroken song Of peace on earth, good will to men And in despair I bowed my head There is no peace on earth, I said For hate is strong And mocks the song Of peace on earth, good will to men Then pealed the bells more loud and deep God is not dead nor doth He sleep The wrong shall fail The right prevail With peace on earth, good will to men |

Rise up shepherd and follow It'll lead to the place where the Savior's born Rise up shepherd and follow Leave your ewes and leave your lambs Rise up shepherd and follow Leave your sheep and leave your rams Rise up shepherd and follow Follow, follow Rise up shepherd and follow Follow the Star of Bethlehem Rise up shepherd and follow If you take good heed to the Savior's words Rise up shepherd and follow You'll forget your flocks You'll forget your herds Rise up shepherd and follow Leave your ewes and leave your lambs Rise up shepherd and follow Leave your sheep and leave your rams Rise up shepherd and follow Follow, follow Rise up shepherd and follow Follow the Star of Bethlehem Rise up shepherd and follow |

Many times I've been told by the wise and the old
Something good I'm supposed to remember If my first love I'll found in, in the warm of July It'll cool in the, in the nip of September Now they point to the skies To the old and wise And they speak of a chill in the air But I don't care Oh, still I love my summertime love Still I love the kissing and the codding Still I love my summertime love With a heart still summertime true Still I love my summertime love Still I want her walking close beside me Still I love my summertime love Let the seasons change as they do Oh, still I love my summertime love Still I love the kissing and the codding Still I love my summertime love With a heart still summertime true |

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain was yellow. Try to remember the kind of September When you were a tender and callow fellow. Try to remember and if you remember then follow follow. Try to remember when life was so tender When noone wept except the willow. Try to remember when life was so tender When dreams were kept beside your pillow. Try to remember when life was so tender When love was an ember about to billow. Try to remember and if you remember then follow follow. Deep in December it's nice to remember Although you know the snow will follow. Deep in December it's nice to remember Without a hurt the heart will hollow. Deep in December it's nice to remember The fire of September that made you mellow. Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow follow. |

It's as dark as a dungeon way down in the mine
I never will forget one time when I was on a little visit down home in Ebenezer, Kentucky. I was a-talkin' to an old man that had known me ever since the day I was born, and an old friend of the family. He says, "Son, you don't know how lucky you are to have a nice job like you've got and don't have to dig out a livin' from under these old hills and hollers like me and your pappy used to." When I asked him why he never had left and tried some other kind of work, he says, "Nawsir, you just won't do that. If ever you get this old coal dust in your blood, you're just gonna be a plain old coal miner as long as you live." He went on to say, "It's a habit sorta like chewin' tobaccer." Come and listen you fellows, so young and so fine, And seek not your fortune in the dark, dreary mines. It will form as a habit and seep in your soul, 'Till the stream of your blood is as black as the coal. It's dark as a dungeon and damp as the dew, Where danger is double and pleasures are few, Where the rain never falls and the sun never shines It's dark as a dungeon way down in the mine. It's a-many a man I have seen in my day, Who lived just to labor his whole life away. Like a fiend with his dope and a drunkard his wine, A man will have lust for the lure of the mines. I hope when I'm gone and the ages shall roll, My body will blacken and turn into coal. Then I'll look from the door of my heavenly home, And pity the miner a-diggin' my bones. |

Four strong winds that blow lonely
Seven seas that run high All those things that don't change come what may But our good times are all gone And I'm bound for moving on I look for you if I'm ever back this way Think Ill go out to Alberta Weathers good there in the fall Got some friends I can go to working for Still I wish you change your mind If I asked you one more time But we've been through that a hundred times or more If I get there before the snow flies And if things are going good You could meet me if I send you down the fare But by then it would be winter ain't too much for you to do And those winds sure can blow cold way out there |

When shadows fall and stars appear
A pain I feel I cannot bear If I could relive that faithful day I would not turn my love away I reveal how I do adore her Hang my heart on my sleeve just for her All my love thru-out life assure her If this moment I could Amour her. When I think of her tender lips Gentle touch of her finger-tips Reminisce on her eyes so fair Moonlight soft on her downy hair I reveal how I do adore her Hang my heart on my sleeve just for her All my love thru-out life assure her If this moment I could Amour her. If some day I should see her smile Hold her hand and me heart beguile Feel her warmth in her earnest prayer Darling shield me from all despair I reveal how I do adore her Hang my heart on my sleeve just for her All my love thru-out life assure her If this moment I could Amour her. Now I'm standing alone and sad Thinkin' upon the joys I've had Time makes fools of men they say Take me back to that distant day I reveal how I do adore her Hang my heart on my sleeve just for her All my love thru-out life assure her If this moment I could Amour her |

Every time I'm away from Liza
Water come to me eye Every time I'm away from Liza Water come to me eye REFRAIN: Come back Liza, come back girl Wipe the tear from my eye Come back Liza, come back girl Wipe the tear from my eye I remember when love was new Water come to me eye There was one, but now there's two Water come to me eye REFRAIN: Come back Liza, come back girl... When the evening starts to fall Water come to me eye I need to hear my Liza's call Water come to me eye REFRAIN: Come back Liza, come back girl... Standing there in the marketplace Water come to me eye Soon I'll feel her warm embrace Water come to me eye REFRAIN: Come back Liza, come back girl... In the shadow I stand a while Water come to me eye Soon I'll see my Liza's smile Water come to me eye REFRAIN: Come back Liza, come back girl... Every time I'm away from Liza Water come to me eye Every time I'm away from Liza Water come to me eye REFRAIN: Come back Liza, come back girl... |

I say let us put man and a woman together
To find out which one is smarter Some say man but I say no The woman got the man de day should know And not me but the people they say That de man are leading de women astray But I say, that the women of today Smartre than the man in every way That's right de woman is uh smarter That's right de woman is uh smarter That's right de woman is uh smarter, that's right, that's right Ever since the world began Woman was always teaching man And I you listen to my bid attentively I goin' tell you how she smarter than me Samson was the strongest man long ago No one could a beat him, as we all know Until he clash with Deliah on top of the bed She told them all the strength was in the hair of his head You meet a girl at a pretty dance Thinking that you would stand a chance Take her home, thinking she's alone Open de door you find her husband home I was treating a girl independently She was making baby for me When de baby born and I went to see Eyes was blue it was not by me Garden of Eden was very nice Adam never work in Paradise Eve meet snake, Paradise gone She make Adam work from that day on Methuselah spent all his life in tears Lived without a woman for 900 years One day he decided to have some fun The poor man never lived to see 900 and one |
