해금은 남한과 북한에서 모두 활발히 연주된 공통분모를 가진 악기이다. 6·25전쟁 이후 남한의 해금은 고려 시대 전신 그대로 현재까지 민속악, 정악, 창작 음악 등 다양하고 폭넓게 사용되어 우리나라의 대표적 찰현악기로 자리매김하였다. 현재 북한의 해금(1960년대 이후 북한에서 해금에 기초하여 창안, 제작)은 남한의 해금과는 다른 모습으로 본래 2현에서 4현, 명주실에서 바이올린 현으로 개량되었다. 중주곡, 합주곡에서 기본 선율을 담당하고 독주 악기로 애용되었다. 이렇듯 오늘날 해금은 남한과 북한에서 각기 다른 모습으로 전승된다.
소해금 연주자 박성진과 해금 연주자 정다연은 2015년 디지털 싱글앨범 “홀로 아리랑”을 발매하였고 남북한의 두 악기가 앙상블을 이루는 과정을 보여주며, 남북한 문화예술의 조화와 아름다움을 전하고 있다.
해이락(奚二樂) EP 음반 <Unison>은 헤어짐의 아픔을 묵묵히 견디며 시간을 보내고 있을 이들의 염원이 이루어지기를 바라는 마음으로 ‘Dragon Dream’, ‘뱃노래’, ‘까투리 랩소디’의 총 3곡으로 이루어졌다. 작곡은 한국 고유의 정서를 담아내는 작곡가이자 기타리스트 조윤섭이 맡았다. ‘Dragon Dream’은 한국의 정서 그리고 일본, 중국을 테마로 한 조윤섭 음반 2집 <Neo Arirang>의 곡을 재구성하였다. 3집 <The Korea Traditional Jazz>에 수록된 ‘뱃노래’와 ‘까투리 랩소디’도 해금과 소해금 편성으로 편곡하여 새롭게 선보인다. 우리의 음악이 많은 사람들에게 위안과 희망을 주기를 바란다.
"Two Haegeums entertain the world."
The Haegeum is a musical instrument played widely in both South and North Korea, which shares a common descent but passed down in different forms in the two countries. Since the Korean War, the Haegeum in South Korea has been established as one of the most representative rubbed string instruments of Korea. It is exactly what it looked like in the Goryeo Dynasty, used in various genres of traditional folk music and creative music. Currently, North Korea's SoHaegeum (developed in the 1960s based on the traditional Haegum) has branched off into a modernized version, a different form of the Haegum played now in South Korea, with four instead of two strings and having violin strings instead of traditional silk ones. It has been popularly used for the basic melody in concertos and also as a solo instrument.
Sohaegeum player Sung-jin Park and Haegeum player Da-yeon Jung released their digital single album "Holo Arirang" in 2015, showing how the two instruments of South and North Korea emerge into an ensemble, conveying the harmony and beauty of the culture and arts of the two Koreas.
The Heyluck(奚二樂) EP album "Unison" with a total of three tracks, "Dragon Dream," "Sailor’s Song" and "Kkaturi Rhapsody(Hen Pheasant Rhapsody)", was put together hoping to fulfill the longings of people who are enduring the pain of separation. The composition was written by Yoon-seop Cho, a composer and guitarist who captures Korea's traditional emotions in his work. “Dragon Dream” was rearranged from the songs of Yoon-seop's second album <Neo Arirang>, which is based on Korean sentiment and Japan and China. "Sailor’s Song" from the third album <The Korea Tradition Jazz> and "Kkaturi Rhapsody (Hen Pheasant Rhapsody)" is also newly presented, arranged in Haegeum and Sohaegeum. We hope our music gives comfort and hope to many people.
1. Dragon Dream 작곡/편곡: 조윤섭
바다에서 떠오른 용이 해금과 소해금을 휘감으며 하나 된 모습으로 화합을 그려낸다. 다른 꿈으로 인해 긴장이 고조되고 있는 세 나라의 현재 상황을 표현한 곡이다. 한국과 중국, 일본의 전통문화에 공통적으로 존재하는 ‘용’의 이야기와 ‘해금’이라는 공통의 악기를 향유하는 남한과 북한. 각국의 이익을 위한 갈등보다는 서로의 이해를 통한 화합의 시대가 오기를 바라는 마음을 담았다.
2. 뱃노래 편곡: 조윤섭
사고 없이 만선을 기원하던 뱃사람들의 노래를 해금과 소해금 연주로 나라의 평안을 염원한다. 경상도에서 발생한 민요 뱃노래는 세월이 흐르면서 경기 지역의 가창자들에 의해 많이 불리게 되어 오늘날에는 경기 민요로 분류된다.
한편 우리나라의 동해 East Sea(Sea of Korea)가 Sea of Japan으로 표기되고 불리는 문제가 지속하고 있다. 이러한 뱃노래의 이야기를 모티브로 우리의 본(本)을 제대로 알고 남북의 바닷물결이 자유롭게 넘나들 듯 함께 화합하여 소중한 문화와 유산을 지켜가기를 바라는 마음을 담았다.
3. 까투리 랩소디(TITLE) 편곡: 조윤섭
전라도 지방의 민요 까투리타령을 모티브로 하여 빠르고 화려한 록(Rock)으로 재구성하였다. 해금과 소해금이 서로 선율을 메기고 받으며 음악이 진행된다. 꿩을 쫓아 산을 오르는 듯, 숨을 고를 틈도 없이 살아있는 즐거움의 연속이다.
