아지아틱스의 2011년은 참으로 분주한 한해 였다. 3월 초에 데뷔해 4월 뉴욕 공연, 5월 싱가폴 공연, 7월 지산 락 페스티벌, 9월 대만 및 일본 공연, 11월 미국 10개 도시 투어, 발매되는 음원 마다 각종 음원 차트 1위 석권과 함께 2011 MAMA <Best New Asian Artist Group>수상까지. 데뷔 1년 차의 신인으로서 주목할 만한 성과를 만들어낸 이들의 한해는 분주했던 만큼 화려한 한 해로 마무리 되었다.

그리고 아지아틱스의 2012년은 <NOCTURNAL (JAPAN DELUXE EDITION)>으로 그 시작을 알린다. 이 앨범에는 기존 <NOCTURNAL>의 수록 곡뿐 아니라 디지털 싱글로 발매되었던 “Be With You(Rock Mix)”, “Go (Acoustic)”과 함께 3개의 신곡이 포함되었다.

<NOCTURNAL (JAPAN DELUXE EDITION)>은 일본 타워레코드 음반 예약 판매 차트에서 비욘세, 에이미 와인하우스 등 세계적인 뮤지션들을 제치고 1위를 기록하여 일본 음악 팬들 및 관계자들을 깜짝 놀래켜 이미 그들의 일본 데뷔에 대한 높은 관심을 입증한 바 있다.

신곡이자 본 앨범의 타이틀 곡인 “Nothing Compares To You”는 일본 최고 프로듀서 제프 미야하라(Jeff Miyahara)와 함께 작업한 밝은 느낌의 R&B/POP트랙이다. 아지아틱스 3인의 절묘한 하모니와 아름다운 멜로디, 그리고 어떠한 것도 사랑하는 연인과 비교할 수 없다는 로맨틱한 가사의 러브송은 ‘역시!’라는 감탄사를 불러 일으킨다.

이번 뮤직비디오는 조금 특별하다. “Go”, “Slippin’ Away”, “A Game”등에 이은 MINIsTREE 오민감독 작품인 “Nothing Compares To You”는 대만, 일본, 미국 등의 투어영상 및 일상 활동을 한데 담아 아지아틱스가 밟아온 2011년의 기록을 다큐멘터리 형식으로 풀어냈다. 뮤직비디오에서 보여지는 아지아틱스의 무대와 자연스러운 일상풍경은 그들이 걸어온 2011년의 행보와 함께 팬들에게 전하는 그들의 고마움을 고스란히 보여준다.

함께 수록된 신곡 “So Incredible”은 유명 중국계 영국인 R&B가수이자 프로듀서인 스티비 황(Stevie Hoang)의 작품이며, 정재윤 프로듀서의 작품인 강렬한 비트의 “Lights”도 포함되어 앨범의 완성도를 한층 더 높였다.

<NOCTURNAL (JAPAN DELUXE EDITION)>은 18일에 일본 타워레코드 등 주요 CD샵에서 발매될 예정이다.

한편 앨범 발매에 맞춰 오는 16일부터 일본에 방문하는 아지아틱스는 타워레코드에서의 사인회 및 라이브 공연을 통해 일본 팬들을 직접 만날 예정이다. .... ....
