INTRODUCTION

밀첸코 마티예비치 [스틸하트] hallelujah(할렐루야)

90년대 초 한국 남자들의 절대 우상이였던 She's gone의 주인공 스틸하트(Steel heart).
그 동안 라이센스 문제로 한국에서는 좀처럼 그들의 음악을 접할 수가 없었지만 (주)엔트리 엔터테인먼트와 스틸하트의 음반, 유통 계약으로인해 국내 유통이 가능해졌다.
지난 09월, 인기 그룹 노라조의 멤버 '이혁'의 She's gone 리메이크 앨범을 시작으로
스틸하트의 보컬인 밀첸코 마티예비치(Michael Matijevic)의 본격적인 한국 활동의 시작을 알렸다.
20년만에 처음으로 국내 유통되는 스틸하트 보컬 마티예비치(Michael Matijevic)의 목소리..
그리고 12월, 그동안 변함없는 사랑을보여준 한국의 팬들을위해 선물같은 앨범을 선보였다.
거친 하드락을 상상했을 팬들은 조금 의아해 할 수 도 있을만큼 이번 음악은 감미롭고 따뜻하다.

바로 jeff Buckley의 버전으로도 유명한 "hallelujah(할렐루야)" 이다.
원곡은 Leonard cohen(레너드 코헨)의 1984년 스튜디오 앨범인 "various Positions"에서 였으며, 또 한번은 1988년에 그의 라이브 레코딩에서, 그리고 마지막은 1994년에 발매한 그의 라이브 앨범인 'Cohen Live'에 1988년 버전에 오리지널 버전의 마지막 verse를 추가한 버전이 수록된것이다.
이 노래를 완전하게 끝마치기까지 5년이 소요될 만큼 정말 힘들게 만들었다고 하는데,
verse가 총 6개..1984년에 처음 나온 가사와 4년 뒤 1988년에 나온 가사는 의미가 완전 다르며 특히 'Cohen Live'에 수록된 버전은 기존곡에 오리지널곡의 마지막 verse를 추가하면서 가사에 섹슈얼한 의미가 강해졌다.

이 그후로 jeff Buckley,bon jovi,chris botti,justin timberlake 등 근래까지도 수없이 리메이크 되고 있는 곡이다.

이번 "hallelujah' 싱글 앨범은 스틸하트의 보컬 마티예비치의 솔로 앨범이며, 서정적인 피아노와 풍성한 현악기의 편곡이 돋보이는 리메이크 앨범이다.
또한 심금을 울리는 마티예비치의 섬세한 보컬과 아름다운 플룻의 조화도 귀를 편안하고 즐겁게 해준다.
이번 싱글 앨범엔 각기 다른 verse가 편집된 총 3트랙이 담겨 있으므로 골라 듣는 재미도 있다.

추운 겨울 두 귀는 물론 가슴까지 어루만져 줄 Michael Matijevic(밀젠코 마티예비치)의 hallelujah(할레루야)를 마음껏 감상해 보자.

2012년 1월에 출시되는 스틸하트의 미니앨범 [She's gone (electronic)]도 기대해 볼 만하다.
지금부터 스틸하트의 공격적인 한국의 음원활동을 기대해본다. ....
