INTRODUCTION
UPT출신 힙합듀오 NEW DYNASTY(뉴 다이너스티)화려한 새출발 2009년 새로운 UPT맴버로 합류해 흑기사, Baby baby 등을 히트시킨 Maniac(매니악), Chan(첸)이 2011년 새로운 도약을 꿈꾸며 NEW DYNASTY(ND)를 결성 대한민국 힙합계에 신선한 충격을 주려한다. 먼저 미국 뉴저지 출신으로 동부 보스톤 언더그라운드 힙합 씬에 기반을 둔 맴버 chan(첸)은 국내, 해외를 할 것 없이 힙합팬이라면 누구나 인정할 아시안-아메리칸 랩퍼로, 2010년 미국 빌보드 챠트 1위에 빛나는 Far East Movement, 미국 최고의 아시안 랩퍼 JIN과 어깨를 나란히 하며 전세계 힙합팬들로부터 사랑 받아왔고, 미국인 아버지와 한국인 어머니 사이에서 태어나 랩퍼로서 타고난 목소리와 끼를 가진 매니악은 미국과 한국을 오가며 양국의 언더그라운드 힙합씬에서 실력을 닦아 힙합 프로듀서들 로부터 최고라는 찬사를 받아왔다. 이렇게 둘이 만나 새로운 유닛을 결성했으니 한국 힙합계에 뿐 아니라 대중음악에도 큰 사건이라 해도 될 것 이다.
이런 기대에 걸맞게 총10트랙으로 구성된 앨범에는 영어곡 3곡, R&B 힙합곡 3곡, 단체곡 등으로 다양하게 담아냈으며 한국의 내노라하는 힙합 뮤지션들이 참여해 완성도를 높이고 있다.
이번 앨범의 타이틀 곡인 Now I Know는 YDG의 “어깨”를 작곡한 ‘원 from face’와 Maniac이 공동 작곡을 하고, 실력파 신예 Joon이 피처링에 참여한 곡으로, 헤어진 연인에 대한 그리움을 역설적으로 표현한 내용의 가사에, 두 맴버들의 파워 넘치는 랩과 Joon의 개성있고 매력적인 보컬이 잘 어우러진 곡이라 할 수 있다.
음반에 수록된 Clap to this, You da Man, Without You(영어버젼)는 강렬하고 세련된 비트에 Maniac , Chan의 수준급 영어랩을 들을 수 있으며, NEW DYNASTY의 미국진출을 위한 첫걸음이 될 것 이다.
앨범 타이틀과 같은 제목의 곡인 Body Language는 전혀 새로운 스타일의 R&B 힙합곡으로 비의 프로듀서로 잘 알려진 C-luv와 공동작업한 곡으로 C-luv의 개성있는 보컬이 돋보인다.
마지막으로 한국의 내노라하는 뮤지션이 함께 참여한 Represent You는 지기펠라즈의 Vasco, Basick 과 overclass 의 Verbal Jint 그리고 최근 발표된 프리스타일의 신곡 “별”의 보컬인 JD가 참여해 앨범에 힘을 실어주었다.
