When I said I needed you
You said you would always stay It wasn't me who changed but you and now you've gone away Don't you see that now you've gone And I'm left here on my own That I have to follow you and beg you to come home You don't have to say you love me just be close at hand You don't have to stay forever I will understand Believe me, believe me I can't help but love you But believe me I'll never tie you down Left alone with just a memory Life seems dead and quite unreal All that's left is loneliness there's nothing left to feel You don't have to say you love me just be close at hand You don't have to stay forever I will understand Believe me, believe me You don't have to say you love me just be close at hand You don't have to stay forever I will understand Believe me, believe me |

Strangers in the night,
Exchanging glances Wandering the night, What were the chances We'd be sharing love Before the night was through Something in your eyes Was so inviting Something in your smile Was so exciting Something in my heart Told me I must have you Strangers in the night Two lonely people We were strangers in the night Up to the moment When we said our first hello Little did we know Love was just a glance away A warm embracing dance away And ever since that night We've been together Lovers at first sight In love forever It turned out so right Strangers in the night Two lonely people We were strangers in the night Up to the moment When we said our first hello Little did we know Love was just a glance away A warm embracing dance away For strangers in the night. |

I tell myself what's done is done
I tell myself don't be a fool Play the field have a lot of fun It's easy when you play it cool I tell myself don't be a chump Who cares, let him stay away That's when the phone rings and I jump And as I grab the phone I pray Let it please be him, oh dear God It must be him, it must be him Or I shall die, or I shall die Oh hello, hello my dear God It must be him but it's not him And then I die That's when I die After a while, I'm myself again I take the pieces off the floor Put my heart on the shelf again You'll never hurt me anymore I'm not a puppet on a string I'll find somebody else someday That's when the phone rings And once again, I start to pray Let it please be him, oh dear God It must be him, it must be him Or I shall die, or I shall die Oh hello, hello my dear God It must be him but it's not him And then I die, and then I die Let it please be him, oh dear God It must be him, it must be him Or I shall die, or I shall die |

By the time I get to Phoenix she'll be rising
She'll find the note I left hangin' on her door She'll laugh when she reads the part that says I'm leavin' Cause I've left that girl so many times before. By the time I make Albuquerque she'll be working She'll probably stop at lunch and give me a call But she'll just hear that phone keep on ringin' Off the wall that's all. By the time I make Oklahoma she'll be sleepin' She'll turn softly and call my name out low And she'll cry just to think I'd really leave her Tho' time and time I try to tell her so She just didn't know I would really go. |

My World Is Empty Without You, babe.
My World Is Empty Without You, babe. And as I go my way alone, I find it hard for me to carry on. I need your strength, I need your tender touch I need the love, my dear, I miss so much. My World Is Empty Without You, babe. My World Is Empty Without You, babe. From this old world I try to hide my face, But from this loneliness there's no hiding place. Inside this cold and empty house I dwell, in darkness with memories I know so well. I need your love more than before, I can hardly carry on anymore. My World Is Empty Without You, babe, without you babe, without you babe, My mind and soul have felt like this, Since love between us no more exist. And each time that darkness falls, if finds me alone with these four walls. My World Is Empty Without You, babe. My World Is Empty Without You, babe. ------------- Lyrics Powered by LyricFind Written By HOLLAND, BRIAN/DOZIER, LAMONT HERBERT/HOLLAND, EDWARD, JR. Lyrics © EMI Music Publishing |

Good bye, old friend,
This is the end of the man(girl) I used to be, 'cause there's been a strange and welcome change in me. For once in my life I have someone who needs me, Someone I've needed so long, For once, unafraid I can go where life leads me And somehow I know I'll be strong. For once I can touch what my heart used to dream of long before I knew Someone warm like you would make my dream come true. For once in my life I won't let sorrow hurt me, Not like it's hurt me before, For once I have something I know won't desert me, I'm not alone anymore. For once I can say this is mine, you can't take it, Long as I know I have love, I can make it, For once in my life I have someone who needs me. For once I can say this is mine, you can't take it, Long as I know I have love, I can make it, For once I can feel that somebody's heard my plea, |

Unforgettable
That's what you are Unforgettable Tho' near or far Like a song of love that clings to me How the thought of you does things to me Never before has someone been more Unforgettable in every way And forever more, that's how you'll stay That's why darling it's incredible That someone so unforgettable Thinks that I am unforgettable too |

Yesterday when I was young
the taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue. I teased at life as if it were a foolish game. The way an evening breeze would tease a candle flame. The thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned I always built to last on weak and shifting sand. I lived by night and shunned the naked light of day. And only now I see how the years have run away. Yesterday when I was young so many Happy songs that waited to be sung, So many wild pleasures that lay and stored for me, And so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see. I ran so fast the time and youth's last run out and I never stopped to think what life was all about and every conversation that I can recall concerned itself with me and nothing else at all. Yesterday the moon was blue and every crazy day brought something new to do and I used my magic age as if it were a wand and never saw the waste and emptiness beyond. The game of love I played with elegance and pride and every flame I lit so quickly, quickly died. The friends I made all seem somehow to drift away And only I am left on stage to end the play. There are so many songs and needed won't be sung. 'Cause I feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongue and the time has come for me to pay for yesterday when I was young. |
