INTRODUCTION
그레고리안 성가로 부활한 비틀즈. 그 안온한 위안. 아우스쿨타테의 비틀즈... 그레고리안 챈트 혹은 그레고리오 성가라고 불리는 이 성가는 복잡한 화음 구성이나 여러 성부를 두지않는 단선율로 인해 플레인 챈트로 불리운다. 이 음반이 추구한 방향과 방법은 그레고리안 챈트 특유의 모노폴리 성부를 이용한 화음이 없는 단선율？ 보컬을 이용함으로서 성스러운 분위기와 누구나 공감할 수 있는 따뜻한 반주를 통해 성-속을 무리없이 자연스럽게 융화하고 있다. 이 모든 작업을 이우어 낸 아티스트가 바로 이 앨범의 주인공 아우스쿨라테이다. 이 앨범의 주도적인 역할을 한 연주자 아우스쿨라테에대해서는 아직까지도 제대로 알려진 바가 없는 미스테리한 인물이다. 음반을 제작한 음반사 역시 의도적이든 아니든 상관없이 그에 대해 그 어떤 정보나 자료도 배포하지 않았다. 한동안 그가 실제로 수사이며 아티스트라는 소문도 나돌았지만 여전히 확인된 것은 아무것도 없이 은일한 상태로 남아있다.
이 앨범에 참여한 목소리의 주인공들의 목소리가 매우 친근감 있게 들리는 것은 이들이 정식 성악 수업을 받은 인물이 아닌 실제로 덴마크의 Ablborg와 b.rglum 수도원에서 수도 생활을 하고 있는 실제 수도사들이기 때문이다. 올레보르그 수도원은 무려 800여년의 유구한 역사를 자랑하며, 특히 The Monastery of The Holy Ghost라는 이름으로 알려진 덴마크의 대표적인 수도원이다. 이 수도원에서 실제로 수도생활을 하고있는 수사들의 친근한 목소리는 그레고리안 챈트라는 이름에서 전달하는 성스럽고 무거운 분위기와 달리 너무도 친근한 목소리로 비틀즈의 명곡들을 들려준다. ....  ....
