Everybody Took A Holiday
(Dee Long) It happened back in ancient times when people worked overtime, overtime In fact I think in 1985 Life was busy in the big city And the union was sitting pretty It wasn't easy to stay alive. And they'd run from the city to the sun and the country And never quite get away When the weekend came everybody took a holiday, everybody took a holiday. On a Sunday in July, everybody made up there minds And when Monday rolled around no one came home All the cities and streets were bare Everybody was havin' fun elsewhere As the weeks went by no one came home! And the stores closed down and the cars stopped runnin' and the sky cleared day-to-day But no one cared everybody took a holiday, everybody took a holiday. But the world has changed today Everyone works in the usual way But at least we had one month away. Things are much, much slower now People get away anyhow, anyhow And the weekend comes they take a holiday. An they run from the city to the sun and the country An never quite get away When the weekend comes everybody takes a holiday Everybody took a holiday, Everybody took a holiday. |

(Dee Long)
Older, it seems like each day you get older And each day the world becomes colder In a cynical way. Time, do you feel like you missed your time? I feel like I've missed mine. And I'm losing my way. I think it's time you realized For I can see it in your eyes You seem convinced that you will Live forever! Over, I feel like my life has blown over I keep looking over my shoulder And seeing nothing but grey! It's crime, don't seem like such a crime I wish I had more time But I'm drifting away. Older, you see it's like I told ya You've gained the right to grow older By living today. I think it's time you realized For I can see it in your eyes You seem convinced that you will Live forever! |

Dear Christine
(John Woloschuk) T'was one long year today I left Bournemouth and you Adventure, salt and spray King's service I must do ... But dear Christine I hold you dearly If only you could hear me I send my love ... sincerely In hopes that we're not merely hanging on. At sea, there's time for thought My head was filled with you With quill in hand, I sought To bridge the endless blue ... But dear Christine I hold you dearly If only you could hear me I send my love ... sincerely In hopes that we're not merely hanging on On and on. And dear Christine I'm just a man who Believes in dreams that come true And if you feel like I do When I return I'll find you ... Hanging On. |

Mister Manson
(Dee Long) He looks at the girls with his evil eye Makes them wish they was someplace else He'll twist their thoughts with his pretty words Make them ... extensions of himself He's the reincarnation of Hitler The daughter of the devil all right! Tell me won't you Mister Manson Do you sleep at night? Well he'd like to melt your mind with hydrochloric Acid in little pill He'll take a thing called love and make you hate it And claim to cure your ills He took the madness of a generation And made them madder still. Tell me won't you Mister Leary Keep your little pills. He'll fill you with his empty statements Directed to a fool Then he'll ignore his own unending speeches And bend the golden rule In the name of god he'll tell you That he's better than all the rest Let me tell you Mister Preacher Jesus has been and left. Let me tell you Mister Manson Jesus has been and left. |

Hello sweet Joan
So glad you're home Just called to say goodbye I'm leaving town I'm bent and bound Don't try to change my mind You ask me why I'm leavin' But we both know the reason You're knee deep in love Guess it's over and done for us, you and me You're knee deep in love But I'm not the one, I'm not the one, I know Isn't it strange How people change And slowly drift apart Like you and me It had to be I've known it from the start You're trying not to show it But in my heart I know it You're knee deep in love Guess it's over and done for us, you and me You're knee deep in love Oh, but I'm not the one, I'm not the one, I know 'cause It's in the way you hold me And in the lies you've told me Everything I do seems to Annoy you and displease you You never share your laughter And in the morning after You try to sweep me under your rug You don't have to say it You're knee deep in love Guess it's over and done for us, you and me You're knee deep in love But I'm not the one, I'm not the one, I know I know |

Paranoia
(John Woloschuk) Oooh , lately when I'm talkin', I've been talkin' to myself My friends say they don't notice ... but they do cos' I can tell I wake up mad every mornin' an I go to bed mad at night My mind ain't functioning poorly but it sure ain't feelin' right No it sure ain't feelin' right . I wen to see my doctor, I told him I'd been feelin' blue He shook his head and simply said, “Ain't nothin' he could do” Well my head aches with apprehension till I can't take any more pain If I don't get some attention soon I think I'll go insane Paranoia I feel ya creepin' through my soul, yeah Paranoia I feel ya taking complete control, oh Paranoia You got me runnin' all the time, paranoia Paranoia Oh what a pitiful state of mind Don't know how long I've been this way My mind is so confused It seems the whole world's after me No matter what I do SOLO No, I can't remember when it's ever been this bad But lately I've felt feelings that I never knew I had Delusions of persecution haunt me, my one companion is fear And there's always someone behind me when I check my rear-view mirror You'd better check your rear-view mirror Paranoia I feel ya creepin' through my soul, yeah Paranoia I feel ya taking complete control, oh Paranoia You got me runnin' all the time, paranoia Paranoia Oh what a pitiful state of mind |

Howl At The Moon
(John Woloschuk / Dino Tome) She was a sleek an slender enchantress I'd met in the Casbah When her green eyes first met mine I was overwhelmed with awe Well we danced all night to the tango And she lured me with her charms As the band played how I prayed I'd awaken in her arms. But when I howled at the moon I knew that something was wrong She had me in a spell And I knew it wouldn't be too long Before I'd end up, before I'd end up Here in prison cell And while we danced she swayed like a cobra You could almost hear her hiss As her green eyes hypnotised It was useless to resist Well she drove me home in her Jaguar And she took me to her room Though it all seemed like a dream It was there I met my doom. But when I howled at the moon I knew that something was wrong She had me in a spell An I knew it wouldn't be too long Before I'd end up, before I'd en up Here in a prison cell Oh . When she said ... “Come, my little fly” “Come now, don't be shy ... just step into my web” I could feel my future fold as I blacked out cold When I came to she was dead . Ooh and then I howled at the moon I knew that something was wring She'd had me in her spell An I knew it wouldn't be too long Before I'd end up, before I'd end up Here in a prison cell Oh Here in a prison cell . |

(John Woloschuk)
Well the other night my automobile broke down on the road I hadda walk a mile before I found a telephone I said, “hello operator, your phone just ate my dime” A tape machine said, “sorry sir” and then hung up the line Did you ever wanna shout I'm not gonna take it anymore, yeah But you never get it out You're too busy crwalin' back for more . Gonna set the world on fire (gonna set the world on fire) Gonna stand and watch it burn (gonna set the world on fire) Gonna get my heart's desire (gonna get my heart's desire) And I don't care who get hurt (gonna set the world on fire) Fire On Friday afternoon I went to get my paycheque cashed I needed money badly with the weekend comin' fast I line up for an hour, but when my turn arose The teller said, “I'm sorry sir, this wicke't just been closed” Did you ever wanna shout I'm not gonna take it anymore yeah But you never get it out You're too busy crawlin' back for more . Gonna set the world on fire (gonna set the world on fire) I'm gonna stand and watch it burn (gonna set the world on fire) I'm gonna get my heart's desire (gonna get my heart's desire) And I don't care who get hurt (gonna set the world on fire) Fire. SOLO Ah Don-cha ever wanna shout I'm not gonna take it anymore, yeah Go ahead and let it out I'm fed up with crawlin' on the floor . So you had one of those nights When you can't do nothin' right An your luck's been runnin' bad An it makes you kinda mad When everybody say ... don't let your frustrations Get the best of you use a little patience And they'll melt like morning dew , oh (gonna set the world on fire) I'm gonna stand and watch it burn (gonna set the world on fire) I'm gonna get my heart's desire (gonna get my heart's desire) And I don't care who get hurt (gonna set the world on fire) Fire. |

Hot Box City
(Dee Long) L.A. People in hot cars, don't know which way to go, No more room on the freeway, only want to get home, Atmosphere is oppressive, but we're breathin' it in, 'cause we all want to be there, back in the city again. Hot Box City, we're wonna lose control, The girls look pretty, and it never get's cold. Inversion layer in summer, but the people still go, Too many people in winter, tryin' to hide from the snow, Little people in hot cars, keep the city alive, That's why we're gonna be there, that's why we're gonna drive. To Hot Box City, we're gonna lose control, The girls look pretty, and it never gets cold. |

Dog Star
(Dee Long) It really doesn't matter where you are, You could be living on a distant star, Just a long as you're feeling right, You could be happy on this fine night. If you just use a little imagination, And put your mind in a new situation, You could be tripping through the galaxy, Lost in a dream, Just you and me. CHORUS You reach your arms, up to the sky, And cast your love across the universe. You're feeling happy but you don't know why. And we'll go dancing on the distant dog star with you. As we go travelling through time and space, And leave the earth to the human race, On our approach to the dog star, We can see the milky way bar. On a planet in a new constellation, We begin a great celebration, We will sing and dance until the day, 'Cause tomorrow is a week away. REPEAT CHORUS Step out on the floor, feel light on your feet, Anti-gravity's on, can't sit in your seat, You're so far from home, all at once you know, You're not ready to go, you wanna stay here for the rest of your life. Just as long as you're feeling right You could be happy on this fine night. You could be tripping through the galaxy. Lost in a dream, just you and me. REPEAT CHORUS |

Sell Out, Sell Out
(John Woloschuk) Mama don't need to PH.D. in sociology To be aware of the revolution happening in the streets Papa said trends keep changing like the tides upon the sea I'm gonna jump on the wagon now to rest my aching feet I've made up my mind I'm gonna get my piece too Now is the time There isn't a day to lose I've had it to here Just watching that world go by This is the year That either we do or we die Sell out, sell out Yeah that is the name of the game Sell out, sell out That anybody can play Sell out, sell out I think you know what I mean Sell out, sell aut Crank up that funk machine I'm tired of breaking my back to please Critics who can't be pleased It's time I looked out for number one Time I looked out for me I've gotta face the reality of living in the real world Before I end up an old man feeding peanuts to the squirrels I finally heard The little voice in my head It gave me the word You wanna know what it said? Don't be a sap Get rid of that cross you bear Because taking the rap Won't make you a millionaire Sell out, sell out Yeah that's the name of the game Sell out, sell out That anybody can play Sell out, sell out I think you know what I mean Sell out, sell out Crank up that funk machine Sell out, sell out Can't pay no bills with your pride Sell out, sell out Woh I know 'cause baby I tried Sell out, sell aut It's easy once you concede Sell out, sell out That love ain't all you need Play that funky music Play that funky beat Play that funky music Love ain't all you need The ivory tower's fallen down The nickels and dimes are spent I've given up castles in the air I couldn't afford the rent Every man has his selling price I'm taking the highest bid Come out of the clouds, Sir Rupert said And do what Stevie did (Peddle yourself!) Peddle yourself You'd better take my advice Or sit on the shelf He couldn't be more precise Don't get me wrong I'd hate to be misconstrued But stringing along It's the only left to do Sell out, sell out Yeah that's the name of the game Sell out, sell out That anybody can play Sell out, sell out I think you know what I mean Sell out, sell out Crank up that funk machine Yeah sell out, sell out woh You have gotta move with the times Sell out, sell out Or they all surely leave you behind Sell out, sell out There's no sweeter sound than the crash Sell out, sell out Of freshly minted cash Play that funky music Play that funky beat Play that funky music Love ain't all you need Sell out Sell out Sell out Sell out sell out sell out |

All Good Things
(John Woloschuk) I never had a closer friend than you I never had such good times as the ones we used to have together You are the one I told my problems to Throughout the years remained true blue No I never had a closer friend than you But all good things must end No use trying to pretend it isn't so When it's time you gotta go But I never had a better friend than you I know it sounds a trifle odd To those who have never had a dog But I never had a closer friend than you But all good things must end No use crying for the dead and that's a fact All my tears won't bring you back But I never had a better friend than you No I'll never have a better friend than you |
