[Where The Light Is]는 존 메이어가 다양한 연주자들과 함께 미국 캘리포니아, 로스 엔젤레스의 대공연장 노키아 극장(Nokia Theatre LA)에서 2007년 12월 8일 가졌던 공연의 기록이다. 그리고 본격 메이저 활동을 시작한 이래, 지난 8년간 하고 싶었고 할 수 있었고 했던 이력을 모두 함께 담았다. 솔로 어쿠스틱, 밴드, 블루스 트리오를 두루 섭렵해왔던 모든 순간을 종합해, 그는 지난해 노래했고 멀티의 형태로 기록했다. 그리고 발표해왔던 많은 노래들을 비롯해 톰 페티에서 지미 핸드릭스에 이르기까지 그가 흠모해왔던 선배들의 음악을, 존경과 자주를 담아 해석했다는 점도 특징이다.
