이탈리아 출생인 DJ Benny Benassi는 사촌인 Alle Benassi (세계적 대형 레코드 프로덕션인 Off Limits 의 뮤지션 / 편곡자) 와 함께 공동 프로듀서로 활동하면서 이름을 날리기 시작했다. 그들이 프로듀싱한 싱글과 리믹스 들은 UK 클럽차트 1위를 기록했으며 일렉트로, 테크노,.하우스가 적절하게 조화된 프로젝트 앨범이자 그들의 데뷔 앨범인 “Hypnotica” 는 첫 싱글 <Satisfaction> 가 단숨에 프랑스 및 독일 클럽 차트 1,2위로 기록하며 유럽 전역에 베니 베나씨 풍 리믹스 신드롬을 일으켰다.
국내에서도 발매되자 마자 <Satisfaction>이 전지현 의?정되어 큰 인기를 누렸다. 섹시하고 중독성 강한 배경음악과 전지현 의 매력이 한껏 어우러져 아직도 음악과 화면이 완벽한 조화를 이루어낸 최고의 CF중 하나가 아니었나 싶다.
이 앨범에서는 이 곡 뿐 아니라 <Time>, <Get Loose>, <Put Your Hands Up> 등이 연달아 히트, 위에 소개된 다양한 국내 CF에 배경음악으로 사용되었다.
베나 베나씨는 현재까지 총 3장의 정규앨범을 발매했다. (국내에는 “Hypnotica”, “Phobia” 두장의 앨범만이 소개되었다)
2006년에는 자신의 일렉트로닉 댄스 전문 레이블인 “Pump-kin Music”을 만들어 유럽의 유망한 일렉트로닉 밴드들을 발굴해 앨범을 발매하기도 했다.
현재 베니 베나씨는 유럽 전역의 클럽에서 디제잉 투어를 하는 와중에도 새로운 리믹스 싱글 앨범들을 계속 선보이고 있다. 그리고 유럽의 댄스 아티스트들의 싱글 앨범에 그만의 스타일로 리믹스 작업을 해 주는 등 왕성한 활동을 벌이고 있다.
이번 발매되는 베니 베나씨 베스트 앨범은 2장으로 구성된다.
첫번째 CD에는 그의 최고 히트곡들이 16곡 수록된다. 여기에는 국내 소개되지 않았던 앨범에서 발췌된 곡들도 있다.
특히 현재 정우성 의 ‘KT 메가패스’ CF에 배경음악으로 사용되고 있는 <In-Tango Sfaction Mix> 도 최초로 수록되었다.
두번째 CD에는 베니 베나씨의 환상적인 리믹스들을 들을 수 있다.
