Deep Purple의 Smoke on the water는..
호숫가에서 커다란 화재가 일어나 건물들이 불타 무너지고
그연기가 수면에 쫘악 깔리는 상황을 묘사한 겁니다.
음반작업을 하기위해 스위스 제네바 몽트뢰에 갔던
Deep Purple 멤버들은
우연찮에 커다란 화재를 만나고
거기서 영감을 받아 곡을 쓴게
Smoke on the water 입니다,
"물위에는 연기가" 정도 되겠죠.
당시 보컬인 이언 길런이 그장면을 보면서
가사를 메모하는 순발력을 발휘했다고 합니다.
