I don't know why I'm frightened
I know my way around here The cardboard trees, the painted scenes, the sound here. Yes a world to rediscover, But I'm not in any hurry And I need a moment. The whispered conversations in overcrowded hallways, The atmosphere as thrilling here as always Feel the early morning madness Feel the magic in the making Why everything's as if we never said goodbye. I've spent so many mornings Just trying to resist you I'm trembling now You can't know how I've missed you, Missed the fairy-tail adventures In this ever-spinning playground We were young together. I'm coming out of make-up The lights already burning, Not long until the camera's will start turning And the early morning madness And the magic in the making... Yes, everything is as if we never said goodbye. I don't want to be alone that's all in the past, This world's waited long enough, I've come home at last! And this time will be bigger, And brighter than we knew it. So watch me fly, we all know I can do it... Could I stop my hand from shaking? Has there ever been a moment with so much to live for? The whispered conversations in overcrowded hallways, So much to say not just today but always. We'll have early morning madness. We'll have magic in the making. Yes, everything is as if we never said goodbye... Oh, please don't ever ever make me say goodbye!!! |

[SPEAKING]Thank you! What a wonderful week to be in New York! The Rangers won the Stanley Cup, right here at the garden. The Yankees are in first place; the 'Nicks' came this close, and it is so great to be here during the 'Gay Games'! Because for once I can walk around the city without being recognized. You know? - There are enough guys in town who impersonate me that when I'm out on the streets, nobody thinks it's really me...Today I was walking up Broadway and a woman said to her husband: 'Look, it's Barbra Streisand!' and her husband said: 'Will you stop it already, that's the tenth one today, this one is not even close!' This is...This is the city that means most to me in my tour, because it's my home...I was born and raised here...(interrupted)...Pardon me...Oh, welcome home did you say, thank you, thank you! Yes, the last time I did a concert here in New York, it was Central Park twenty-seven years ago...So, a lot has happened since then...

Oh, listen, sister
I love my mister man And I can't tell you why There is no reason why I should love that man It mus' be somethin' that de angels have planned Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly I gotta love one man till I die Can't help lovin' that man of mine Tell me he's lazy, tell me he's slow Tell me I'm crazy, maybe I know Can't help lovin' that man of mine When he goes away, that's a rainy day And when he comes back that day is fine The sun will shine! He can come home as late as can be Home without him ain't no home to me Can't help lovin' that man of mine [SPOKEN:] I, I first heard that song when Ava Gardner sang it in the movie, because I had no idea that it came from a Broadway show, 'cause I went to the movies long before I ever went to the theater. Who knew from the theater? I'd go to the Loewe's kings in Flatbush, every Saturday to escape into a world of fantasy and also because they had the greatest mellowrolls. a mellowroll was this little ice-cream log, a lot of you must know that, wrapped in paper that sat on a cone. Anyway, I'll never forget, uh, when I was thirteen... some things improve with age... this friend of my named Barbara Sankell, who knew that I wanted to be an actress, told me about this actor named Marlon Brando, who was in a movie called Guys and Dolls, which I also didn't know was from a Broadway play. And so I went to see it, and it was truly a life altering experience, seeing Marlon Brando for the first time. It was the only movie that I ever sat through twice just to get to see him again and to have another mellowroll. Anyway, I'll never forget this song... |

I'll know
I'll know when my love comes along I'll know then and there... [speaking] and I remember sitting in the theater with my hormones raging, and my "mellowroll" melting all over me and i, I felt This...ah...i don't know how to call it...mmm... chemistry... M.brando Yeah, chemistry! Suddenly I'll know... Barbra Hello, gorgeous! M.brando When my love comes along Barbra Is he something or what? M.brando I'll know... Barbra Oh, my god! M.brando Then and there... Barbra Here I am... M.brando I'll know... Barbra On the aisle... M.brando At the sight of her face... Barbra My face? Both How I care, how I care, how I care... Barbra Who wouldn't care? M.brando And I'll stop... Barbra Don't stop! M.brando And I'll stare Barbra Well you could stare! M.brando And I'll know... Barbra I knew from the moment I saw you M.brando Long before we can speak! I'll know Barbra Yes'i knew M.brando In my heart... Barbra In my heart... M.brando I'll know... Barbra Take me now! Both And I won't ever ask, "am I right? ", "am I wise? ", "am I smart? " M.brando But I'll stop! Barbra Could you faint? M.brando And I'll stare Barbra From that smile... M.brando At that face... Barbra That face... Both In the throng! Barbra Oy! M.brando Yes, I'll know... Barbra Yes, I'll know... M.brando When my love... Barbra When my love... Both Comes along... Barbra [speaking]oh, I was so jealous of jean simmons. I mean that she got to have him fall in love with her, and she got to kiss him and everything! I fell in love with you marlon, right then and ther The loew's kings theater, in flatbush! anyway, a year later, when I was fourteen, I crossed the brooklyn bridge to manhattan, and saw my first broadway show, "the diary of anne frank" Oved it but I couldn't afford to see many shows, so when I was fifteen I became an usher. and it was a great deal! you got paid four dollars and fifteen cents a show, and got to see it for free. Then, when I was twenty-one, I actually had a show of my own, "funny girl". the composer is here tonight, julie styne. hi, dear julie! isn't that lovely? such a great score! I love you There's a song from that show that each time I sing, takes on a different meaning for me. and I've been thinking, this has been a year filled with natural disasters, and it's amazing how in tim Catastrophes people do come together, forget the Ir differences and help one another. but do we always need a catastrophe to remind us that we're all just... |

I don't know why, but I'm feeling so sad
I long to try something I've never had Never had no kissing Ooh, what I've been missing Lover man, oh, where can you be? The night is cold, and I'm all so alone I'd give my soul, just to call him my own Got the moon above me, but no one to love me... Lover man, oh, where can you be? I’ve hear it’s said that the thrill of romance can’t be Like the heavenly dream I go to bed with the prayer That you’ll take my love to me Strange as it may seem Some day we’ll meet And you’ll dry all my tears And whisper sweet Little things in my ears Hugging and then kissing Hum, what I’ve been missing Lover man oh where can you be? |

People,
People who need people Are the luckiest people in the world Where children needing other children And yet letting our grown-up pride Hide all the need inside Acting more like children than children Lovers Are very special people They're the luckiest people in the world With one person, One very special person A feeling deep in your soul Says you are half now you're whole No more hunger and thirst But first be a person who needs people People, People who need people Are the luckiest people in the world. With one person One very special person A feeling deep in your soul Says you are half now you're whole No more hunger and thirst But first be a person who needs people People, People who need people Are the luckiest people in the world. |

Will he like me when we meet?
Will the shy and quiet girl he's going to see Be the girl the he's imagined me to be? Will he like me? Will he like the girl he sees? If he doesn't, will he know enough to know? That there's more of me than I may always show, Will he like me? Will he know that there's a world of love Waiting to warm him? How I'm hoping that his eyes and ears Won't misinform him Will he like me, who can say? Oh, this evening seems a million years away It's insanity to worry so all day I'll try not to Will he like me? He's just got to Will he like me? He's just got to |

He touched me, he put his hand near mine
And then he touched me I felt a sudden tingle when he touched me A sparkle, a glow He knew it...It wasn't accidental, no, he knew it He smiled and seem to tell me so all through it He knew it, I know... He's real, and the world is alive and shining I feel such a wonderful drive t'wards valentining He touched me; I simply have to face the fact He touched me... Control myself and try to act As if I remember my name But he touched me...He touched me... And suddenly nothing is the same! 'Cause he touched me...He touched me... And suddenly...nothing, nothing, nothing is the same |

The night is bitter
the stars have lost their glitter. The winds grow colder Suddenly you're older, And all because of the man that got away... No more his eager call, The writing's on the wall The dreams you've dreamed have all gone astray. The man that won you, has run off and undone you That great beginning, has seen the final inning Don't know what happened, it's all a crazy game... No more that old time thrill For you've been through the mill And never a new love will be the same Good riddance, goodbye Every trick of his, you're on to But fools will be fools And where's he gone to? The road gets rougher It's lonelier and tougher With hope you burn up Tomorrow he may turn up. There's just no let up But live lone nigth and day... Ever since this world began There is nothing sadder than A one man woman looking for the man That got away... The man that got away... |

- The Way We Were -
by Barbra Streisand Memories, like the colors of my mind Misty water-color memories Of the way we were Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another For the way we were 추억들, 내가슴속 빛깔 같은 지난날 우리의 수채화 같은 추억들 우리의 아름다웠던 순간들이 지난날 우리의 미소들이 또오르네 Can it be that it was so simple then Or has time rewritten every line If we had chance to do it all again Tell me would we, oh could we ? 그때는 모든 것이 간단했나 아니면 시간이 흘러 그런 것인가 우리가 다시 시작할 기회가 주어진다면 그렇게 할까, 시작할 수 있을까 ? Memories may be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember We simply choose to forget So it's the laughter The laughter we'll remember Whenever we remember The way we were The way we were 추억이란 아름다운 것. 기억하기 고통스런 것은 잊어야 해. 그래, 웃어야지 웃음을 기억할 거야. 지난날 우리가 생각날 때면 지난날 우리 지난날 우리 |

(Barbra)
You don't bring me flowers You don't sing me love songs (Neil) You hardly talk to me anymore When I come through the door at the end of the day... (Barbra) I remember when you couldn't wait to love me Used to hate to leave me Now after loving me late at night (Neil) When it's good for you, babe And you're feeling all right (Barbra) When you just roll over and turn out the light... And you don't bring me flowers anymore (Neil) It used to be so natural (Barbra) It used to be... (Neil) To talk about forever (Barbra) Mmm... (Neil) But used-to-bes don't count anymore They just lay on the floor Till we sweep them away (Barbra) And baby I remember all the things you taught me (Neil) I learned how to laugh and I learned how to cry (Barbra) Well, I learned how to love and I learned how to lie (Neil) So you think I could learn how to tell you goodbye (Barbra) So you think I could learn how to tell you goodbye You don't bring me flowers any more... (Both) Well, you think I could learn how to tell you goodbye... (Neil) 'Cause you don't say you need me; (Barbra) You don't sing me love songs (Both) You don't bring me flowers anymore... |

It's a lazy afternoon
And the beetle bugs are zooming And the tulip trees are blooming And there's not another human in view, But us two It's a lazy afternoon And the farmer leaves his reaping And the meadow cows are sleeping And the speckled trouts stop leaping up stream As we dream A far pink cloud hangs over the hill Unfolding like a rose If you hold my hand and sit real still, You can hear the grass as it grows It's a hazy afternoon And I know a place that's quiet, except for daisies running riot And there's no one passing by it to see Come spend this lazy afternoon with me |

Nothing's gonna harm you
Not while I'm around Nothing's gonna harm you No sir, not while I'm around Demons are prowling everywhere Nowadays I'll send 'em howling I don't care I've got ways No one's gonna hurt you No one's gonna dare Others can desert you Not to worry, whistle, I'll be there Demons'll charm you with a smile For a while But in time Nothing can harm you Not while I'm around Being close and being clever Ain't like being true I don't need to I would never hide a thing from you Like some No one's gonna hurt you No one's gonna dare Others can desert you Not to worry, whistle I'll be there Demons'll charm you with a smile For a while But in time Nothin' can harm you Not while I'm around |

Change can come on tiptoe
Love is where it starts It resides, often hides Deep within our hearts And just as Pebbles make a mountain, Raindrops make a sea, One day at a time Change begins with you and me, Ordinary miracles Happen all around, Just by giving and receiving Comes belonging and believing, Every sun that rises Never rose before, Each new day leads the way Through a different door, And we can all be quiet heroes Living quiet days, Walking through the world Changing it in quiet ways, Ordinary miracles Like candles in the dark, Each and every one of us Lights a spark, And the walls can tumble And the mountains can move, The winds and the tide can turn, Yes, ordinary miracles One for every star, No lightning bolt or clap or thunder Only joy and quiet wonder, Endless possibilities Right before our eyes, Oh, see the way a miracle multiplies, Now hope can spring eternally Plant it and it grows, Love is all that's necessary Lovin', its extraordinary Why, Makes ordinary miracles every blessed day. |

(Filled with a love for learning, Yentl has
no choice after her father dies but to disguise herself as a man, so that she can pursue all her "sweet-imagined possibilities." Her journey begins...) [Prayer] Oh God-our heavenly Father. Oh, God-and my father Who is also in heaven. May the light of this Flickering candle Illuminate the night the way Your spirit illuminates my soul. Papa, can you hear me? Papa, can you see me? Papa can you find me in the night? Papa are you near me? Papa, can you hear me? Papa, can you help me not be frightened? Looking at the skies I seem to see A million eyes which ones are yours? Where are you now that yesterday Has waved goodbye And closed its doors? The night is so much darker; The wind is so much colder; The world I see is so much bigger Now that I'm alone. Papa, please forgive me. Try to understand me; Papa, don't you know I had no choice? Can you hear me praying, Anything I'm saying Even though the night is filled with voices? I remember everything you taught me Every book 1've ever read... Can all the words in all the books Help me to face what lies ahead? The trees are so much taller And I feel so much smaller; The moon is twice as lonely And the stars are half as bright... Papa, how I love you... Papa, how I need you. Papa, how I miss you Kissing me good night... |

Look at how he looks at her
Will someone ever look at me that way- Full of all the feelings and the soft unspoken words That lovers say? I thought that i knew ev'ry single look And sweet expression on his face, Yet this is one that i don't recognize. Althought i've set and studied him for hours. But now i see how love completely occupies A pair of eyes. See the way they gaze at her, Like slaves they follow ev'ry where she goes. Do my eyes forget themselves And do i ever look at him And smile in such a way That what i'm feeling shows? Sometimes i have the feeling Ev'rybody knows. And even though it's crazy, Still i can't help wond'ring if i'll ever Live to see the day When by some miracle of miracles, He'll turn around And look at me that way! |

Go long bad times We are rid of you at last Howdy gay times Cloudy gray times You are now a thing of the past Happy days are here again The skies above are clear again So let's sing a song of cheer again Happy days are here again Altogether shout it now There's no one Who can doubt it now So let's tell the world about it now Happy days are here again Your cares and troubles are gone There'll be no more from now on From now on... Happy days are here again The skies above are here again So, let's sing a song of cheer again Happy times Happy nights Happy days Are here again! |

Oh my man I love him so
He'll never know All my life is just despair But I don't care When he takes me in his arms The world is bright, alright, What's the difference if I say I'll go away When I know I'll come back On my knees someday Oh whatever my man is I am his Forever more It cost me a lot But that's one thing that I've got It's my man Cold and wet Tired you bet But all that I soon forget With my man He's not much for looks And no hero out of books He's my man Two or three girls has he That he likes as well as me But I love him Oh my man I love him so He'll never know All my life is just despair But I don't care When he takes me in his arms The world is bright, alright, What's the difference if I say I'll go away When I know I'll come back On my knees someday Oh whatever my man is I am his Forever more |

For all we know
We may never meet again Before you go, make this moment sweet again We won't say good night until the last minute I will hold out my hand And my heart, my heart will be in it For all we know This may only be a dream We come and we go like a ripple on the stream So love me tonight, tomorrow was made for some Tomorrow may never come For all we know [Speaking] There are so many challenges that our country faces, especially the problems of life in our big cities. So may we all continue to work together toward a kinder and more peaceful world; take care of yourselves and each other, and I'm really glad that our paths have crossed... Goodbye for tonight, remember it now and then Someday we may meet again For all we know Oooo...There's no telling where or when For all we know... [Speaking] Thank you so much! Thank you! Well, this has been an unforgettable experience for me...Nowhere on my tour have I been so warmly welcomed, than in the greatest place in the world, my home town, New York City! And there are so many people here tonight! Just, just imagine how boring life would be if we were all the same! And my idea of a perfect world is one in which we really appreciate each other's differences... Short/Tall, Democrat/Republican, Black/White, Gay/Straight...A world in which all of us are equal, but definitely not the same, right? Hello Times Square! Thank you New York! |
