남자는 생각했다.


'내가 포기할 것은 무엇인가? 붙잡고 있는 과거를 놔버리면 새롭게 태어날 수 있을까?'


삭막한 도시 속, 실패만 쌓여가는 자신을 돌아보며
다시 태어난다는게 무슨 의미가 있는지 남자는 생각을 곱씹었다.


돌아보면 늘 상처뿐인 곳이었다.
어릴 적 좋아하던 것들은 어느새 형체도 없이 사라졌으니.


'하지만 나만은 늘 이곳에 영원하고 싶어.'


어딜 둘러봐도 죽어있는 것들 뿐인 이 도시에서
남자는 영원히 사라지지 않고 싶다는 바람을 품고 몸을 뉘었다.
