우리는 모두 각자의 ‘기억의 조각’들을 안고 살아간다. 그 조각들은 오래도록 우리의 마음속에 남아있다가 어느 순간 그리운 감정을 꺼내어 가져다준다. [조각]은 이처럼 지나쳐온 순간의 조각들이 가져다준 여운 속에 잠긴 화자가, 과거의 그리운 ‘누군가’와의 순간들을 되새기며 그를 잊지 않겠다고 다짐하는 노래이다. 
 
‘너’는 기억하고 있을지 모르지만, 화자인 ‘나’에게 너와 관련된 모든 기억들은(심지어 너와 함께 걸었던 거리의 작은 풀꽃조차도) 잊어서는 안 될 소중한 조각들이다. 다이아몬드가 부서져도 그 파편들이 여전히 각자의 가치를 가지는 것처럼, 지금은 함께 할 수 없는 너와의 추억이 담긴 모든 기억의 조각들도 여전히 ‘나’에게는 큰 의미를 가지고 있다. 너를 기억하기 위해서라면, 차라리 나 자신을 잊어버리겠다는 가사는 ‘너’를 그리워하는 ‘나’의 모습을 여실히 드러낸다. 하지만 화자가 그리움을 드러낸다고 해서 소중한 누군가가 돌아오는 것에 집착하고 있는 것은 아니다. 이 노래는 ‘너’에게 닿지 않을, 독백이기 때문이다. ‘나’는 단지 너를 그리워하며, 기억의 조각들 사이에서 헤메이고 있을 뿐이다. 공간적으로 상상해 본다면, 너의 조각들 사이에 공허하게 남겨진 ‘나’를 생각해 본다면 적절할 것이다.
‘나’와 ‘너’에 대한 해석은 자유고, ‘기억의 조각’들에 어떠한 내용이 담겨져 있는지에 대한 해석도 자유다. 듣는 이들이 편견 없이 다양한 가능성을 받아들일 수 있도록, 가사에 공을 들였다. 단순히 이성적 사랑 이야기로 한정짓지 않기 위해 화자인 ‘나’와 그리움의 대상인 ‘너’의 성별이 연상되는 단어는 배제했으며, 직접적으로 ‘사랑’이 연상되는 단어보다는 ‘그리움’과 ‘추억’이 연상되는 단어들을 주로 사용하였다. 무한한 상상력으로 각자의 새로운 이야기를 만들어보기를 바라며, 글을 마친다. .... ....

Songwriter Yullin's first digital single [Sculpture]
We all live with our own 'pieces of memory', the pieces that remain in our hearts for a long time, and at some moment they bring out the nostalgic feelings. [Sculpture] is like this, the narrator who is in the emotion of the fragments of the past moment recalls the memories of someone who missed the nostalgia and promises not to forget him.
'You' may remember, but all the memories associated with you to 'I' are precious pieces that should not be forgotten (even the smallest flowers on the streets you walked with). Just as diamonds are broken, their fragments still have their own values, and all the pieces of memories with you are still meaningful to me. To memorize you, I would rather forget myself, reveal the figure of me who misses you. But it does not mean that you are obsessed with returning to me because the speaker reveals nostalgia. This song is because it is a monologue that will not reach you, 'I' just misses you, and it is only among the pieces of memory, if you imagine it spatially, It would be appropriate to think of 'me' left empty among your sculptures.
